Writing for a living is an awesome head trip at times--and this is one of those times!

When I published the first CLAW & WARDER Episode, I did it with a certain amount of trepidation. I was best known for a series about demons (The Bloodletter Chronicles: https://ehv4.us/4demonking) that feed on fear, degradation, torture, and the like--about as far from a comedy as you can get. It's true that the CLAW & WARDER series maintains a link to my horror / fantasy roots, but I hit the comedy button pretty hard, too, and I had no idea whether I could pull it off for even one book, let alone the 9 I had planned for 2020.

From day one, I fielded questions about the audiobooks. The only problem was that the books are purposefully short--mirroring the LAW & ORDER dramatic structure, and doing what I consider to be the book equivalent to a 43-minute television show. I really doubted people would want to pay full price for a short audiobook.

Enter Podium Audio, my publishing partner for CLAW & WARDER Audiobooks for the foreseeable future. I spoke with Victoria Gerken, the head of acquisitions and author relations, about my concerns, and she had a terrific idea: bundle them! I was already planning to do 3 episode box sets, and she thought that would be the perfect length (around 900 pages). Podium cast the absolutely first-rate George Newbern to perform the books, and I've been chomping at the bit ever since.

Today, the preorder for the audiobook went live! I'm also very happy with the cover--which Podium contracted from Ryan Schwarz--the cover designer extraordinaire who made all the great covers for the CLAW & WARDER series. It's scheduled for release on March 9th, 2021, and I'm still chomping at the bit.
