Summer in Western New York
September 6, 2018
I’ll never get tired of summer in Western New York. Erik and I were both raised in Florida where summer is practically year-round (not to mention brutal in ways most New Yorkers will never understand). Here in Western New York, you can count on one hand the number of 90-degree days (and a few days ago it was sixty-five degrees at noon...in August). You can drive with the windows down and sometimes need a jacket—although Erik says I’m crazy on the jacket part, but what does he know? He wears T-shirts when it’s in the forties!
You can even mow the lawn at noon up here if you want. In Florida, that would have been suicidal. Folks up here complain about the winters, but I guess everywhere has its good and bad points (though we find the winters are kind of mild).
We are rounding the bend towards fall so I’ll enjoy the awesome summer weather while it lasts and look forward to what fall brings—wearing more jackets.

About Hank and Jane IRL
I asked Supergirl if she would write a few blog posts about our real lives. We’re calling it Hank and Jane IRL, and if you don’t get the Hank and Jane reference, you need to read the Blood of the Isir series. 🙂
